Did 100 km on roads like this today. My butt is officially filing a complaint. If you're looking for a smooth ride, maybe consider a detour. Wouldn’t recommend this part of the EV6.
That’s not half bad, you’re clearly not a gravel rider?

Good reminder that 25mm tires aren’t always a good idea.
MS150 Texas, nasty chip seal, had me questioning 40mm tires.

It’s like mtb, you need to choose a line

Looks like an average road here in Norway!

At least there’s always some flat path. Unlike in baltic countries where most of the roads is gravel with massive washboarding problem.

I’ve only toured in Hungary so far (and haven’t done the Southern part of the EV6), but my understanding is that the EVs are not guaranteed to be on tarmac/asphalt. Yes, sometimes, at least in Hungary, it takes you to shitty roads. But I’m more pissed when it means a busy road full of fast cars (even worse: trucks).
This road looks nice as well as the scenery. (The part that’s up North for Budapest is beautiful, but the western side of the Danube takes you to a busy road and drivers are f&^% idiots on that one. At least that was the case back in 2018. Last year I did the other side, where part of it runs in Slovakia, much better and safer.)

I’ll be doing this section next year – Budapest to Belgrade. What town is this near-ish?

It’s eastern Europe, it could be worse
What’s wrong with that road?
