Ofc there's the question how long would the stages be. There would be 80 stages (because there are 80 lines). Two possibilities.

  1. The stages would be of "regular" length. I.e the participants cover 3.8x the distance over the whole Giro – dramatically changing strategy and the type of cyclist who could win the GC.
  2. The stages are shorter, so the total distance covered is the same. 3412 km is the distance covered in the 2025 Giro, so all the stages would be ~42.7 km – very short, with very steep climbing in many stages in the middle part.

Since Giro this year has 2 TT's out of the 21 total number of stages (the last stage is as always sort of.. well you know) – let's say there are 8 TT's.

Why are there 80 lines on the Joy Division album cover, you ask?

on that album cover, there are some GNARLY climbs, that I can see

fun descents tho. like a roller coaster

Interesting that despite a lot of climbing and 80 stages, they would all be sprint finishes. But that assumes the sprinters can survive the climbs and be near the front, which is tough.
