Hi! I’m @CédricCuypersStudios I’m documenting my journey as I prepare for one of the biggest challenges of my life—a full Ironman in Hamburg.

With each video, you’ll get a glimpse into my training progress, tips I pick up along the way, and moments of inspiration (and maybe struggle). If you’re into endurance sports, or just looking for some motivation, you’re in the right place.

[Music] We have arrived at the airports in Marseilles. This will be a week full of cycling, swimming, and running. And I will be taking you with me. Right now, we are almost at 180 subscribers. It would be awesome if we could get close to 200 by next week. Then I will be uploading this training week footage as a special. And at the end of this video, I will show you my first day already. First we have to go back to past Cedric in Belgium struggling for his last sessions before he departs on training camp. I’m still in Belgium enjoying the Belgian sun at the moment. I’m currently halfway on my 40 km bike ride. I stopped off at yeah somewhere in the countryside. I have currently cycled 19 km uh at approximately 26 km per hour. Just cruising along here. Let’s cycle back. Let’s open up the [Music] elevator. I roll it in like this. It fits exactly and then I just squeeze in. We close the door so we fit together and then I press the button and we go up and we’re here. And now it’s a trick to get it out as well. So, first of all, I open the door. And usually Mila is here to greet me. There she is. Hello, Mila. No, don’t go outside. And now I take the bike like this. And we roll it in backwards. Ah, that’s how I take my bike back inside. It is the day before I leave on training camp. Right now, we are cooking dinner. I’ll quickly show you what we are making. We are making what is it called? It’s kind of like a Poké Ball. The viral spit potato bowl. Sweet potato bowl. Okay. We are making the viral sweet potato bowl. I’ve already cut some vegetables. Some red bell pepper. Yeah. I’ve already cut some red bell pepper. I’ve got um zucchini. Um some avocado. And right now we are waiting on the sweet potato. It’s in the air fryer right now. No, we are not waiting on the sweet potato. Zucchini is so precious. Yeah. Booya. I think I I think zucchini is cucumber. Uh cucumber. Cucumber. Yeah, I’ve already got some cucumber. Some other vegetables. So, this is what the final dish looks like. Oh, yeah. Earlier on, um we also went to like a flea market or a garage sale uh and we bought some stuff. There was like a stand and they said like everything is for €1. Uh and La wanted this very ugly lamp. I mean, it’s not that ugly. It’s like squishy. You can It’s like a bag of a bag of sand. And there were like these uh these funny guys and they were offering me like everything for €1 and he was offering me his t-shirt. I didn’t want it. Uh but I did say I want his hat for €1. So yeah, he gave me his hat. I quite like it. And then we also got this. This was 50% off. She was only like €10. Okay, we are going to enjoy our food now. I will be packing most of my stuff tomorrow morning. Uh, and my flight is at 4:00, I believe. But there’s one thing I already want to fix tonight, and that’s I want to screw off my pedals of my bike. So, let’s attempt this right now. I’ve been trying for over 30 minutes. It’s also very hot at the moment in Belgium. It’s like 26 27°. I didn’t manage to take off my pedals, but no problem because someone who is going on trip as well also didn’t manage to get off his pedals. So, we are going to Datlon on Saturday, so I can finally stop trying to remove my pedals. I’ve almost finished packing. It’s been a bit of a predicament. I’m struggling to fit everything in my suitcase. I I have to take a suitcase with me, then a backpack, and then I also have to carry a bag with me as well. So, hopefully they’ll let me through. Earlier on, we went to one of our favorite stores. Uh, we bought some Asian food. Uh, La prepared the meal already. It’s looking like this. What’s it called? Drunken noodles. Drunken noodles. Drunken. Drunk. We’re eating drunken noodles apparently. Uh, so yeah, looking forward to that. Uh, we are leaving to the airport at 2:00, so in 50 minutes. I still have to pack the last things. Uh but then we are ready to [Music] go morning. It is the first day of training camp. It’s currently almost 8:00. Uh we’re not having breakfast till 9:00, I think. But I’m just way too excited. I think we’re already going to attempt our first mountain. uh for me the first time anyway. Uh but I’m not sure yet. But I’ll take you with me and I’ve got one more surprise to show you. Especially for this occasion, I bought no shoes like the Hoka Mactos. They’re not carbon plated. Um but there’s something else. There’s something else, a different plate. Um that should work fine as well. But first, let’s grab some breakfast. We’re running around 9 or whatever. [Music] Check these out. Such good French. Oh my god. So easy. Cedric, let me give you the rundown. Run with me. Okay, so we’re five guys in Tuli area and we’re all training for an Iron Man. We got Cedric running the Iron Man Hamburg and three others running the Iron Man Austria. Well, that makes us four. So, there’s one more person, but he’s a runner, not actually an iron, man. He’s training for the Olympics. Yeah, exactly. This week, we’ve got around about 20 to 25 hours of training. We’re going to do everything in zone 2, which means pretty relaxed as you can see right now. And uh with all that volume, we hope that we will actually survive the Iron Man. Right now, all of us are a bit apprehensive. So, let’s see how this week is going to be. But right now, we’re going to join. You can dive in here. So, we just finished our 11k run. Uh, right now we are going for a cold plunge in the sea. The other guys have already entered, so decided for me to dive after coming to the water. Nothing feels better than a cold plunge right after the run. Way more. I feel like life is so much easier for me because I I weigh less. I saw you guys like struggling to come out of the water. I looked out like you have to delete this meat in this video. I say something out of context. Okay. So, as you guys can see, this morning we completed our run. We ran at a pace of like 527. We had an uh an Iron Man pacer, so we stayed quite accurate. Uh right now, we’re all prepared and set for our 2-hour bike ride. Should be about 52 km, uh depending on how hilly the course is. Uh, I brought three gels with me as suggested because mine are like 30 grams of uh of carbs every gel. I got I got my my pedals on and you know it’s very important because I can see my power now and you know being an elite cyclist like I am, I have to see my power number otherwise I’m lost. And yeah, and what are we aiming for today? Well, I think we’re aiming to find these Yomo Vizma riders and uh drop them. Smoke them. Drop them immediately. That’s our challenge for today. That’s our challenge. Let’s go. All right. Does anyone need any assistance? Light assistance or uh maybe some grease over here. That carbon sound. Some grease. Chain. Oh, the lube. Yeah. Lube. You want to be lubed up? Yes. I say something out of context. Okay. So, we did change up the the pedals to fit on the cleats on my shoes. Uh right now it’s still a bit drizzling with rain. Uh so we are waiting like for 30 minutes and then we are going out on our bike ride in the sunshine. Let’s go. Yes. [Music] All right. I’ll take you from the back. I say some things out of context. Okay. [Music] [Music] Here comes Pogata. Pogata with the breakaway. Push. Push. Push. Push. Go. Ali. Ali. Ali. Stamina. Keep going. Keep going. those squash for kilo, baby. Yeah. All right, so how was the cl explain us what we what did we just do and how was it? We did our first climb of the trip. So like a climb of of 2 km. How many altitude meters was it? Uh good question. Um 200 m maybe. So it’s like 2k climb with the 200 altitude meters. Um I think everyone went all out as you should on the training camp. I did we all uh we all managed to get zone 4 I think. Yes. Yes. Some uh some of us even uh bit more than zone 4 myself included. Uh but right now the benefits what goes up must come down. When in the south of France you also get your latins on the bike rides. I need to help up with this. Sharing is caring. [Applause] [Music] We stopped off for a little snack and to uh to drink something fresh. Uh we still have got like 50 minutes to go, so we’re almost there. The sun is out. We didn’t bring any sunscreen, so we’ll probably be burned after. But, uh, that’s the triathlon. That’s the triathlon life. [Music] Yeah. Nice. Some of the guys are like taking it very seriously on our first day and they’re really trying to do an reverse full triathlon. Uh so this morning we started with the run obviously. Then the cycle ride we just finished about an hour ago. We did about 60 km at an average pace of 27 km per hours and that includes that steep climb as well. And right now they are going for a 1 km swim just around the island. Um so yeah, I’m saying no to that at the moment as it’s still the first day and uh we still have to get through a week of training. In a few moments we’re going to be eating dinner. I’m going to be editing this video you’re watching right now. And I think I’ll sign off here. Um, so yeah, you know the challenge. If we can get close to 200 subscribers or 50 likes, I’ll upload a special training camp video next Sunday. Thank you guys for watching and I’ll see you next
