  1. Change tires, brake pads, grips, and saddle then you should be good to go feeling like a new bike after all the usual maintenance.

  2. If the bottom bracket is bust check that first. They are one of the toughest things to replace so if it needs replacing better not put any other work in first

It’s a cheap, heavy frame with cheap heavy components. I’d invest as little as possible to get it to do what you need, eg add a basket.

Looks like it was barely ever ridden. If it was stored in a cool garage away from sunlight, you could probably ride it on those tires and maybe even tubes, brake pads look fine too.

Of course go over it and check and verify everything, but it looks “restored” already as it is. Nice!

  5. I helped my friend overhaul his dads old bike, new tires was the best upgrade.

We also changed the stem from a quill to a normal stem plus a riserbar. New grips.

He had a 3×7 drivetrain so we made it 1×7 for simplicity. New chain and casette.

    New cables and outers.

Upgraded the brakepads. Brakehandles and shifter.

Added a small rack with a basket. And also upgraded the saddle.

Was about 200€ from my old parts, bikeshops and aliexpress.
