Besides some new rubber, is this worth touching? It appears to be completely stock and very lightly used. Notably, it has an oval chainring and roller cam brakes. I am thinking of replacing the bar/stem and brake levers. I am hesitant to upgrade the period correct parts as I don't want to accidently tank the resale value. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

Sweet bike! Brown’s creek trail is one of the Goats 🐐

I’d probably swap out the brake levers for some aluminum ones, grips, pedals, and seat. Then any general service items such as cables and housings, brake pads, etc

  2. yeah, tires, saddle is what i’d do too on the first look.

But a front rack can be a nice versatility addition to such a timeless bike. But it is not gonna be easy. either you only use the lower and mid fork brazeons, or you need a custom adapter to go around those beautiful cunningham brakes to the fork crown hole.

And maybe a bar with a tiny bit more backsweep and some new bar grips to go along, but this one looks already fairly comfy.

If you stick to tan wall tires (Bonkers or DTHs?) then a matching brown leather saddle and bar grips would compliment that.

Personally i’d remove the reflectors too, they always reming me too much of department store bikes.

Are High Sierras gonna be the new GT trend? I swear I’ve seen like three posted recently
