Park’s 2025 British Superbike Championship inaugural round has been cancelled following a multi- rider incident at the first corner, race two of the British Super Sport Championship, the race that came before the weekend’s third and last BSB event was red flagged. The incident involving 11 cyclists resulted in the event being suspended at 1558 local time and then cancelled at 1706. Stuart Higgs, the BSB series director, informed TNT Sports that the cancellation was a severe and catastrophic incident coming off of turn one at the start of the British Super Sport Race. Given the seriousness of the incident and the fact that 11 cyclists were involved, a red flag and full medical response were naturally raised. Since the medical response to that is still officially ongoing, we are able to state that the event has been cancelled and that there will be no further racing today. Higs also mentioned that MSVR will release a follow-up statement later today, May 5th. For the first time since 2018, Leon Hasslam emerged victorious in a BSB race earlier today. The 2025 season’s opening race was won by Bradley Ray on

I first saw the news headline on AOL, as it said it was being televised, I wondered if it was on Youtube. Unfortunate for all involved in this terrible accident. RIP to the two riders, that sadly died in the sport they enjoyed, condolences to families and friends of the deceased and injured.

I hope the organisers refund everyones money. Years ago the race carried on, now we have this mass demonstration of grief as though no one ever thought motorcycle racing was dangerous. It's racing get on with it.

very very sad loss to the motorsport world. Hopefully question will now be raised as to the number of riders allowed on these older narrow tracks. Let's hope changes are made so tragedies like these do NOT happen again.
Was there yesterday, Mercifully over the other side of the circuit. When I saw helicopters landing & taking off I knew it was the cruel part of racing that was going to prevail tragically.
