One is not any better than the other, it’s all about preferences.

I much prefer toe cages myself for many reasons. But some much prefer straps

I would say better just different. I had both straps and clips (currently back on clips) what I can say is that my straps never failed me where as clips on the other hand had. I had 2 pairs that I ripped the bottom of the shoe off. The shoes became old and slowly frayed away.

  3. Theres clips, straps and cagers.

Its all preference as I started off with straps and I still love straps. I find clips good for sprinting/speed, but straps for skidding and such… Never got around to using cages tho. Is it worth it? Ive had my fair share of cheap velcro straps and one time it came loose on a downhil… Never again. Im currently using Restrap’s pedal straps cos of the buckle design and its pretty solid. Never had it slip off.

If you want an all velcro strap like yours, consider cinelli’s Kinks strap. Theyre a bit more pricier but thats the price to pay for reliability.

  4. Just don’t get cheap ones off Amazon they will split.

Don’t get Cinneli Kink Straps either they’re crap, Gusset straps I’ve had for 3 plus years going strong

Onipax are among the better cheap ones but still won’t last

Just switched from straps to wahoo speedplays two days ago, the difference is night and day; easier to get in/out and the control, power transfer and skids are joyous. I do feel like a doofus galloping around the supermarket in cleats though.
