Any; I was so happy to see you had posted another ride today and what a glorious reward at the top of the mountain, thank you for sharing it with us; it seemed to me that you’ve improved your descending skills as you appeared to be more relaxed on the bike. I missed something from your last post but will comment now; at the end of your video you mentioned that the electrolyte tablets were messing up your stomach a bit. iDK if you’re using the tablets your friend gave you that have iron in them but, if so, switch to something without iron or with a lower concentration. Iron is very hard on the gi system, trust me, i suffer from severe iron deficiency anemia and have to get infusions in part because i can’t tolerate the tablets. If Its not the iron then it’s likely the tablets; many of the effervescent tablets use CO2 to dissolve in water and that gas can get trapped in the stomach and is hard to release while bent over on a bike. Switching to a powder would of course remove that problem. Beyond that, just another day of sweat equity on the road. R-
I only found you a few days ago, and now I’m so excited for this Tour de France adventure! I subscribed so I wouldn’t miss it! 😂
Dunno how you're repeating these distances. Well done…..
Hi Amy, great video. Good too see your training is going well.
I seem to remember seeing a video on the YouTube GCN channel about heat training that involved going into a heated cabin riding a static bike and they were able to work out your fluid loss.
Might be of some help reference how much fluid you’ll need to drink when riding the TDF route. 😀
"Sweet pine cones it's a burner" …This is why I need a little Amy in my life! 😀
Well done on fixing the puncture Amy, it will become second nature as you gain more experience👍That view from the walkway was something else wow, the other views weren't too shabby either👌90 miles is 144km, not 114😉
I recently got a Tyre Glider, as I was struggling to fit new tyres. All I can say is that it wasn't easy but I got the tyre on, where before I was really struggling.
Hi Amy. Brilliant vid, great fun, great views. I love it. A little tip from me regarding puncture change drill. As you only need one side of the tire edge to come off the wheel rim, when putting in the new inner tube, I always get the valve in loose first and screw the valve retaining ring part-way on. Then I push the new inner-tube into the tire all the way round remembering to push the valve part of the inner tube also right up into the tire, as that's the bit that could easily pinch. When I push the tire back on, I go clockwise with one thumb, and anti clockwise with the other, pushing the tire around the wheel, and on with my thumbs until I get to the last bit. Now this is the bit that most people have trouble with, but it need not be that difficult. Instead of trying to push the tire edge ove the wheel rim, just grab the remainder of the tire and fold it over the rim as if you're going to push it over the other side of the wheel. It might need a few goes until you get a feel for it, but it works, is much easier than you might expect, and doesn't pinch the inner tube. When I pump the tire back up, I pump it up a little way, then disconnect the pump and bounce the wheel gently all the way round for one rotation to make sure the inner tube "relocates" properly, then I give it the full pump, and off we go. Good luck with your next ride. I look forward to the vid – as always, you're doing a fantastic job. TTFN.
That was one seriously large sandwich for a back pocket. 😂 These videos are always so good…..
the weather is getting better and better by the day. Don't you use co2 cartridges to inflate the tyres?
Amy pumping like crazy …
"Any Spanish men going past right now will get a right angle of my <slight pause> bottom" squeezes tyre "We're quite hard actually"
Innuendo +1 and counting …
Wow! What amazing scenery! Your videos are always wonderful – I don’t know how you can doubt yourself – I find you the most positive cyclist on YouTube! So sweet that you were missing Kyle in this one!
Brilliant tire (tyre!) mounting device! (2:21). I never use levers to mount tires because I don't like the way the lever can stretch the tire bead in such a small, concentrated area — especially with a folding tire. To reduce the tension at the last bit that needs to stretch over the rim, I drop the contra-lateral bead well into the rim channel, put my foot or heel between the spokes and pull on the opposite edge (the one that needs to be pushed over the rim) of the tire, grabbing it at the tire bead with my fingers. A few hard tugs and the bead sinks in to the rim channel on the bottom under my foot, and gives me enough space to roll the bead over with my fingers. But in all honesty, I like this device because it can move the bead long, as opposed to just forcing it over at one section. It also looks like the glider is pushing the inner tube medially, so that it won't get damaged or caught under the bead.
What was the name of the sun cream not possible to read it in the video. Beautiful ride today and always entertaining to watch x
Amy I have one of those tyre thingys and they are really great
What do you think of running tubeless in the road bike?
Nice puncture fix Amy, you have come a long way in dealing with them. You’re a good role model to all beginners out there.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awesome ride! Beautiful countryside. I always enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.
Hi Amy. Thank you for showing me the beautiful scenery. Love & Respect to you from North Carolina.
Ffs go tubeless you wouldn’t be in that situation then.
It’s ok for some ain’t it?
" Natural born killers " ? naa more like " Natural born song writers " … lol…… nice video & lovely scenery
good morning
Get an electric pump.
Great video as always Amy😊..
It's lovely to see you blossom 🌼🌸 in confidence..🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
I'm glad you're getting so comfortable changing a tyre. Another victory over ones self. And you're basically a cannibal eating your own sweat omg.
Very well done with this consistent warm weather training. You're doing an excellent job building fitness and recovery habits, while also incorporating new fueling tactics.
Well done on the puntcher fix I know young lads what struggle with something simple as that . Big up Amy 😊
Meals at Escapar look amazing
All the innuendo that could be commented on here lol. Get yourself one of those new electronic pumps Amy it will get you off the side of the road quicker.
You're getting those miles in and I admire your determination. You are also ticking off items, refuelling, hands looking better not bonking. All brilliant. The heat will be an issue. Don't know how you are going to do that but you will. I'd say you ideally need to be in the heat for a week or two before the event. I can see +30 degrees, but you will be able to set off early and that will help a lot. 6.00 am starts are no stranger to you. You should be feeling good.
Amy, every time you say Gee whiz and Bloomin Nora it makes me smile. Keep being you which is Awesome.
Hey can i ask fashion question
Watch out for red squirrels; generally ill tempered.
90 miles is 144 kilometres
OMG!!!! Who needs electrolyte when you can eat your own sweat!!! I'm still laughing so hard! After watching any Amy Cycling video just makes me smile!😃
Amy, how on earth do you manage to climb with one hand on the Bars? Wish you all the best on your upcoming adventure, I know you will achieve all of your goals.
Got a funny look from my wife when she walked in while you were pumping furiously
