If you live in bear country, it’s not stupid to be prepared. Better to have and not need, vs need and not have.
That goes for any defensive weapon.

😂 I keep mace on my bike and recently was attacked by two small dogs in the city. Got both in the face as they approached my ankles.
I didn’t even think about extrapolating that into the mountainy wilderness O.o. Hope you never have to use it, but keep it on an easy to detach clip. I fumbled mine and almost got bit.

We usually carry bear spray as well. I hear it works well on other mammals that can be dangerous as well.
