Hello all, unfortunately I nicked up the handle bar stem while my brompton was folded. It wasn’t flat ground and when placing it down it fell on the handlebar side before I could catch it. I was trying to find touch up paint for the flame lacquer color but others have mentioned in the past it can be hard to find the lacquer colors. Was wondering if anyone has been in the same boat and if you found a solution to come close to matching the color. Thanks in advance.

  1. I’d be researching how to tint clear coat, then start experimenting with amounts or red/orange to get a close match. Or, just use clearcoat by itself and call it a day. It’s a bike and it’s bound to get dinged once in a while. I like to use a toothpick to apply paint/clearcoat in precise areas and amounts, just get a bit on the end and poke those areas until you have enough.
