Tried the shopping cart mode today, went really well.
Easy to move around when taking it slow but not as good when rushing (almost tipped over haha).
I didn't feel comfortable putting stuff directly in my backpack so used a basket that held perfectly on the handle. Will definitely do this often but it is hard to unfold and fold with heavy backpack on front, so need to take it off in the future, but other than that, 10 of 10!
Using brompton like this is not common at all in Sweden so i got some looks from both people shopping and working but no one seemed to mind it :).

Grab a rear axle extender thing, makes shopping cart mode a lot more stable!
It can be tricky to unfold but I think it’s easier than trying to take the bag off and then balancing the bike while you put it back, it’s much more of a “lift and swing” rather than the fluid motion of normal unfolding
We usually use the Brompton bag as the basket (as long as they don’t think you are shoplifting!)
It’s easier than trying to balance a real basket
