This is the advance chain catcher. It falls off because assembly workers in the factory peel off the 3M tape and just place it on and move on to the next task. If they spent 3 seconds extra on the factory line firmly holding it in place then it can stay on longer, but they’re under pressure to be ‘efficient’.
