I was looking for a good cheap solution to a bike safe soap and came across this rainx car soap concentrate.
I wanted to share my great experience with it because I know a lot of people (including myself) just use dish soap. I've heard that dish soap isn't the best thing for your paint job and it strips wax based polishes and top coat, so I wanted a more kosher soap to use without crying about buying overpriced bike specific soaps.
As far as I can tell this soap doesn't have any additives like "car conditioner" that could contaminate the break pads. In fact I noticed that after using it my metallic break pads are beautifully silent for until a bit of hard braking. I'm guessing that the surfactants in the soap might be doing hokus pokus on the break dust. I haven't noticed any loss in brake function after a dozen washes. If I'm messing up my pads without knowing feel free to roast me.
