Hi all,
I have a lead in a 2015ish Kona Jake the Snake bike. It’s very lightly used as the owner had some injuries that prevented them from riding. The price is right. My only concern is mounting points – and the lack thereof. The geo may also be a bit dated?
But I don’t know much about gravel bikes tbh. Looking for my first for commuting, around city use and to get into weekend bike trips and potentially longer, like 1-2 weeks (eventual goals being GDMBR).
There are no bosses on the fork, would I be able to mount stuff there? Mind you it is also carbon so maybe can’t take that much weight. Same for the frame – I just see two sets of bosses for the triangle (I’d run a frame bag) but no underside mounting options, and then not sure about the rear triangle?
To sum – is this a decent option for bikepacking, despite having a carbon fork and maybe limited mount options? I also need to see how big of tyres it can take.
