Think I’ve ridden past the Vohwinkel terminus of the world famous Wuppertal Schwebebahn, the oldest suspended electric rail line in the world, maybe twice in the last week or so on my way back to Bochum, but I’ve not actually seen or been on one of the trains. Yesterday, I had to return my W9S velomobile to Pedalwirbel Witten, as I’m still waiting for the racekap to come. Then it can be shipped home in one piece. Since, I am not riding the velomobile, I made a special trip in the afternoon to ride this very cool train line!

This was the elephant on the train: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuffi – maybe a PR stunt only.
And the pipes in the beginning probably belong to the Bayer factory: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayer – there were many factories along the river and the wupper was used as convenient sewerage, smelling bad and was almost dead. I remember it when I was I kid, you could smell it before you saw it, even down in Solingen. But they changed it and now they have fish and you could even swim in it again.
Wat een mooi afgewerkte fiets!
