Check out 7r Bags out of Ukraine. I’m not sure if they have panniers, but they can do custom and Dyneema was one of the materials they use.

It’s pricey, and prone to puncture. While it’s great for applications where weight is the paramount concern, I think most bag makers probably see it as a liability for applications like Bikepacking bags. Plenty of people make roll-top/dry bags from Dyneema as it’s usually contained in a harness or other bag, while panniers are the exterior bag more likely to experience bumps and cuts.

San Util designs makes “lightweight panniers” which have no mounting hardware, just velcro and you can chose Ultra which is a non-woven like Dyneema. Hard to make waterproof – limited to using hand applied tape in straight lines.

Dyneema has high tear strength but low abrasion / puncture resistance which is the main issue with bike bags. Also the real weight in bike bags are from mounting, hardware and stiffening elements not necessary the fabric. So low gain at high cost.

The PE / poly woven blend fabrics are good. Revelate has the Nano panniers for one.

  4. Weight doesn’t matter much unless you are racing or do a lot of hike-a-bike.

If you find your gear is too heavy, pack less stuff, or get lower gearing. Dyneema panniers is probably the last place I would look for weight savings.

Because they don’t last as long.
And they eventually shrink a bit.

  6. I highly recommend San Util’s bags – they make a bar bag and do a variety of frame bags up to full custom. I have two Ultra400 frame bags from them and they’re awesome. I also have a couple of hip packs in other fabrics and they’re the best hip packs I’ve used. Also the roll top top tube bag is my favorite top tube bag design by a huge margin, and I’ve got two of them.

I’m sure I sound like an insane fan boy, but truly, excellent bags and I’ve beaten them up pretty hard.
