From what I can see that looks like a quality bike. Maybe a little on the vintage side, but that’s often no bad thing. Must admit it’s a brand I’ve never heard of. What else can you tell us about the bike? Frame material, groupset, year etc. Is it in good condition/working order with plenty life left in the chain, chainrings, cassette etc?

It’s a carbon fiber, 54cm, Ultegra/Shamano parts and the guy is just trying to sell it because he wants to invest in a hybrid. An apparently it completed a service ride this year (rides great)

Scatante was house brand of recently deceased bicycle retailer. My understanding is they were made by Fuji. Know several people who race competitively but couldn’t afford high end bicycle so rode a scatante. They liked them and endured some ribbing from other racers

Aging carbon and aging drivetrain, I’d go more for $250-$300. This is a bike that’s nearing the end of its lifespan and is going to be used up. Not much will be salvageable or of value after, imo.

I’ve ridden scattante’s in the past though and I remember them riding pretty nice. For reference, I sold one with brand new Campy Veloce group and wheels about 10 years ago for $700.

  5. Seems ok. Groupset is good and condition seems decent. I would be cautious of the carbon frame. Ask seller if you can inspect. Look for any cracks, delaminations, signs of repair or anything else out of sorts. If the seller seems reluctant, tries to rush you, doesn’t seem forthcoming, or anything else out of sorts I would walk away. FB Marketplace has become tricky in the past few years but there are still decent sellers and good deals to be had.

I would feel ok paying about $300 for this bike. It looks decent enough for your purposes.
