I did a ride around the block and it got worse specially where there is pressure neat the heel of my palms at the bottom of the hoods.

Had the same color for a year, never looked like that.
either something went very wrong during storage (high or low temp, moisture) or this is fake

It’s normal situation when you place your palms on that part of drops. Your palms should be not placed here constantly, fix your hands position on bike.
I’d still ride it till it needs replaced again

Going with fake here as well. I had this tape in a different color and even after months of riding even the worst spots looked in better shape than _any_ part of yours.

i put on alot of chinese bar tape. they all work one or 2 times. mutsov makes one that you cant tear that easy. want a link pm me
