Sitting here enjoying another vid by my favorite channel. My specialized hardtail she can hold her own without breaking the bank ,it's not about the bike it's all about the attitude.

Im straight chillin with my absolute beater of a walmart mountain bike, a 2004 Magna Excitor, found it on the side of the curb and its absolutely f'ed in terms of the drivetrain, but it rides, and I love it even if its a total piece of CRAP

So there is not much in it. The cheaper heavier bike will make you fitter because it takes more effort to move it and more skill to stop it quickly.

They should swap bikes, but of course there are bikes with the same features but different weights, depending on the trademark, that's true. It would be interesting just to see a full comparison, swap included to have a better knowledge of this topic.
buy a cheap bike, use the money for some riding courses and for riding it more and u end up way superior, then riding a 8k machine every two month

It's insane to me that ppl care this much.
The truth is bike tech isn’t like iPhone tech. Sure, guys buy the latest and most expensive bike just to have it, but quality really does matter on the trail. Trash tech can quickly make for a frustrating experience out in the woods. Whereas when everything is working smoothly, there’s nothing getting between you and fun.
Money doesn’t buy skill remember that all you people with all the gear & no idea
