I had bar ends which were great for ergonomics, but had the risk of braking being delayed by a second or two, especially in emergencies.

How long is the top tube length? Is it comparable to a generic road bike’s according to your heigth? I’ve done a similar conversion, but found out the the frame was too big for my size. So, I converted it back to hybrid and sold the bike.
