Brave man – locked Brompton in central Paris

A first time experience for me; seeing a Brompton locked to a bike rack in central Paris.

While eating lunch today and staring out onto the street, I noticed a gentleman ride by on a Brompton. It is raining quite a bit today in central Paris and I paid attention because I was very interested in the waterproof bag/backpack mounted on the front of his bike. Well a few minutes later, he walked by the window wearing his Brompton backpack in the pouring rain. I remember thinking, where could he have left his bike? I would never lock mine up outside in this area – it is a very safe neighborhood, but still why risk it? Well to end this too long of a story, while walking down the sidewalk I noticed that it was locked up to the bike rack at the end of the block.

Maybe it is not an uncommon sight for many of you, but it was a first for me.
