So bibs by definition have straps. Is there a reason you’re avoiding them? I got into bib shorts last year after fifteen years of cycling and I gotta say, the difference is night and day. I only wear my old waist shorts for indoor cycling now because the bibs are just so much better in every way

Anyway, if you’re looking for low cost, decent quality you may want to check out decathlon and neopro- I have a pair of decathlon bibs (they run very small, btw) and a couple of guys I ride with swear by the neopros for a low cost option

  2. For performance I have various x-bionic padded shorts and leggings (best kit ever) and my fall back for any serious and/or long cycling activity.
Endura – also good and value for money and perfectly fine for regular wear.

I have bibs too but sometimes fancy stuff without the straps but I’ve not managed to find any padded cycling shorts that are in any way funky or colourful.
