June 3rd marks the #WorldBicycleDay declared by the United Nations General Assembly in April 2018 (Resolution 72/272), at the initiative of Leszek Jan Sibilski, a former member of the Polish National Cycling Team.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ottawa invited representatives of the diplomatic corps of the EU for a joint bicycle ride through the City of Ottawa to celebrate World Bicycle Day.

as well as the European Union in Canada, we toured today Ottawa’s unique sites on bikes: the Ottawa sign, Parliament Hill, bike paths along the Rideau Canal and Rideau River, and the scenic Sandy Hill and Rockcliffe neighborhood.
The ride began at 12 pm at the Ottawa sign at the ByWard Market.
Diplomats from the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada are also joining the event. In this way, the EU diplomatic community expresses solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the face of Russian aggression.
