When i first got a front basket I encountered the problem with stuff you're carrying blocking handlebar mounted lights. I initially solved this by zip tying some pvc conduit under the bar and mounting the lights off that. Off balance lights rotated the conduit, which was fixed by drilling through the conduit and securing it with another ziptie. This has worked just fine for several years.
More recently came up with a simpler solution which is a cheap head torch, with the strap removed, ziptied directly to the basket. Simple head torches with no built in angle adjustment work best, the one pictured was £3 in lidl and has worked fine for about a year so far.
