I recently picked up a Rodeo Labs Flaanimal 4.0 that has a DT Swiss 650b wheelset with 350 hubs and 48c Panaracer gravelking SKs. I’m curious if it’d be worth it switch to a 700c wheelset and sell the 650b. Ideally, I’d find something used local, currently looking at a DT Swiss G540 set w/ SRAM 900 hubs for $250.
The frame’s max tire clearance is 650×48 and 700×45. Is there any reason to keep the 650b wheelset if it doesn’t allow me to run a significantly wider tire than 700c?
I’ll be using this bike for about 75% road and 25% gravel. Including commuting and maybe some light bikepacking, when I’m not riding my Krampus.

Those wheels you’re looking at are def a downgrade from what you’re currently rocking. At least in terms of quality.
