I was performing annual maintenance on my Canyon Spectral’s linkage and ended up stripping one of the bolt-heads. Normally, you could use an extractor bit to counter drill into the head but that wasn’t possible due to it being in a tight spot on the frame.
Since the bolt extends completely through the linkage, I drilled and tapped a hole on the opposite end. Tightening a screw from the opposite end would be the same as loosening the linkage bolt.
I was able to thread in a 5mm screw and successfully extract the stripped bolt after only an hour of work! I had a spare from Canyon express shipped so I ended up only losing about a week of riding due to this issue! However, it did cost roughly $125 for the replacement bolts and tools needed for the repair 🙁
This is my first full suspension and coming this close to screwing up my frame during standard maintenance is making me seriously consider rejoining r/hardtailgang haha

it sucks to have it happen, but glad it worked out for you.
