Went from a 29×2.3 Terravail ehline to a 700×50 gravel king sk….curious how the smaller size will handle here in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas. I really want to try a set of Schwalbe thunder burts but they are out of stock and back ordered everywhere I can find. Had my local bike shop order a set in 29×2.1 and he says they should get them mid next month. Looking forward to trying those when they get here!

I would strongly recommend trying the X1s. They’re a nicer tire all the way around than the SK. Better grip and they roll faster. The small tread block designs have been shown to be slower in the real world.

I have those in 54mm 650b and love them
i both love and hate those tires. as tires they are great, like one of the top gravel tires, but they have amazing ability to pick small stuff from the road that gets stuck in the tread. like small pieces of glass.

Hope you don’t ride with friends. My buddy used to run those tires and they fling so many pebbles that I couldn’t ride behind him.
