I'd never turned a wrench in my life but "anything is possible with youtube" I told myself.
Bought a 1980s Peugeot Marketplace special and spent the winter learning how to rebuild it. Which was mostly successful. Plz don't ask the bike shop how much they had to fix when I was done.

Pretty much one of the main factors for me as well. Don’t want a heap o’ junk that’ll feel like crud with every pedal stroke. Also want nice stuff but not at the eye-watering prices. So that leaves us with poking around some used buried treasure hidden out there.
