I have a long-ish 20.5 mile (one way) commute. I used to have the luxury to take a local bus to work in the morning and then I'd ride home in the afternoon, but Kansas City canceled that bus route years ago (and have since chopped lots of routes – very sad). Because of this, I stopped bike commuting all-together because a 40+ mile day is quite the time commitment. But I really missed it and finally got my butt on the saddle again. It was so fun to be back out on my bike commute. High 40's with the smell of spring in the air on my steel SS gravel bike (outfitted with a couple baskets). Got to my desk at 7:59am – perfectly timed. So much more enjoyable than driving on the interstate.

That’s awesome. How’s your route? A lot of highways, or smaller local roads? I actually just did my first one in about 6 years as well— I used to do it every day, but then I got a job too far away, and even when I got a closer one I felt weaker/older/rusty, so I delayed getting back to it until last week. It feels great, congrats!
