My cranks are chrome plated type.
It started to get these rusty spots.
I wish to paint the whole thing black.
It have heard that it is hard for paint to stick to chrome plated parts.
So anybody who has experience is paint in chrome parts please guide me on how to properly prep and to the paint job.

Scuff it really good and use an etching primer. Might not stick as well as bare steel, but it will work.
Honestly don’t bother, it doesn’t stick well, and quite honestly ruins the chrome anyway. Sell them on buy some black cranks if that’s what you’re after.
