I am planning on bringing my Canyon Spectral 125 to Moab as I brought my enduro last year and seemed too heavy for all of the pedaling. I was riding my Spectral yesterday and it seemed like it was getting overwhelmed on some simpler rock rolls. I have EXO DHF and DHR on the bike right now that I would be more than okay with wearing down in Moab. I feel like I may need to beef up the bike with some Enduro Continental tires I have sitting in my garage to help the bike (and me) in the tougher rock sections in Moab. What would you do in my shoes?
Here is the video of me riding yesterday where I felt overwhelmed on some of the rock rolls: https://youtu.be/WH9oKD2cIVQ?si=G4xsGpAawPeZFZeD

I would just leave the maxxis on. No reason to change over IMO
DHF and DHR are pretty stout. I ran Moab on a Rekon and Dissector and was fine. You’ll be fine with what you have on now.
If I’m understanding correctly, you are more worried about your tire casing getting sliced than the grip itself right?
If that’s the case, I usually haven’t had issues running EXO on rocky and loose SoCal terrain as long as I pick my line well enough. I do prefer EXO+ for the added peace of mind, but im also around 210 pounds fully kitted out. But EXO haven’t really ever let me down either.
Hot take: tire pressures matter more than tread patrern or casing in moab. I’ve ridden all over moab with a ton of treads from Rekon Races to double Assegais, and the only time I had a bad time was when my tires were > 5psi over/under inflateed
I’ve used that exact tire combo there. Works just fine. If you want something that rolls a little easier for longer rides, swap to an Aggressor onto the rear.
You are overthinking it.
