Idk wtf I did wrong now. Everything is new and put in correctly including the tube spacer. Odyssey thunderbolt cranks with shadow bb. Everything is inline from sprocket to driver and it didn’t make that noise till after I got the chain and wheel on. Chain is not to loose or to tight. Doesn’t seem to do it when riding. If I have to take this damn thing apart again I’m going to throw it off a cliff.

Why.

  1. Is the sprocket straight?

Make sure it is 100% seated and the holding bolt is torqued down flush to it.

The way that sound happens during a certain portion of the rotation lends me to believe the sprocket teeth are clipping the chain links.

  2. Yes sir sprocket is straight, spent an hour making sure! With the holding bolt as well, pedaled the crank many times before to watch and make sure the sprocket was straight. After work tomorrow I may take the wheel back off to make sure it’s that and not something in the crank making the noise. Everything is new just put together

Something is not lined up properly. It could be a crank spacer or sprocket adaptor does the crank bolt need to be shimmed? Check the rear wheel too.

chain could be on backwards. sounds stupid but some half links require it to be on a certain way
