I usually use Nevr-Dull wadding. Mother’s Mag and Flitz are also good polishes. Obviously this is just for surface-level cosmetic rust.

I’d use some steel wool and wd-40 then a nice polish with a terry cloth and some flitz.

For chrome putting try cheap cola and aluminium foil. The foil is harder than rust but softer then chrome, and the coca cola has acid in it which helps to break down the surface rust.
Depends on how picky you want to be with it but fine grade steel wool and alot of elbow grease then a hand polish would come up good
Did this to my dura ace set they were brown when i got them and now like a mirror with the chrome just takes time
