Stage 2 of Giro d’Abruzzo in Italy was 138km and full of climbing, up and down all day with splits and battles for points. Best young rider Fancellu from JCL Team UKYO had a front wheel issue and quickly made his way back to the pack. All back together towards a challenging uphill drag to the finish line… Ivo Oliveira from UAE Team Emirates XRG attacked about 1500 meters from the line and held on to take his 4th pro win.

This marks UAE’s second consecutive stage win, following Alessandro Covi’s triumph in Stage 1. Filippo Fiorelli finished second, just four seconds behind, with Marco Brenner taking third place.

This is the 29th victory in 2025 for UAE Team Emirates XRG. Filippo Fiorelli of VF Group – Bardiani CSF – Faizanè takes the leaders jersey going into stage 3.
