Just received my brand new Canyon Spectral ON CF8 a few days ago. After assembling the bike I quickly noticed a frame defect on the carbon top tube. Multiple calls to customer service. Poor communication, no one seems to be familiar with the product, no solution yet to what is a very simple issue.

What are your thoughts on the frame photos and have you notice customer support going downhill? The defect (dent/divot) is hard to photograph because of the glossy finish. Much more noticeable in person, visually and to the touch. Approximately one and a half inches long and a half inch wide.

This is my second Canyon bike purchase in nine months, I’ve always been a huge Canyon fan, but this poor customer support experience has me thinking about other brands.

  1. Just return it. A defective frame is a defective frame. They can’t magically fix it, and getting it fixed will be a hassle. Send it back and buy another one.

  2. You’re not going to believe this BUT that’s exactly what I would like to do. Only if I could get a response from customer support. The remedy changes daily depending on who I talk to. Plus, I snagged this bike last week during a sale, which is no longer, would assume they would send me another at the sale (same) price since the bike was defective, not as easy as it sounds.
