I lubed my chain once, waiting for it to break so i can buy a new chain and lube it once as well

  2. Solidly agree.

You can’t tell my chain is polished. It looks black.

I’m glad chain waxing isn’t really a thing for us too. I can not be bothered with taking my chain off for a full deep clean, boil in oil and grease stripper and then a full soak In hot wax.

Maybe because I ride mtbs as well, but I do clean and lube my bmx chain occasionally.

  4. When I was younger and rode trails, I would clean my chain fairly often. This is also like 25 years ago. I had a cousin who worked for White Lightning at the time, too, so he sent me like two cases. I felt obligated to keep my chain cleaned and lubed. 😂

  5. I remember lubing my chain after a year or two and I was like “this is like a whole new bike. Lol

  6. BMX chains fatigue and stretch was faster.

It makes more sense to replace them than to maintain them.

Also, a chain for my gravel bike was $80 last I checked.

  7. Lubing would mean the concreate dust from sprocket stalls and grinds sticks to the chain. That increases wear. We don’t want that.

  8. You’ll change that once your chain breaks while cranking up a hill in and the bar end Apple cores your chest.
