The lesser known side of the Stelvio but one not to miss if at all possible. The Umbrail Pass starts three kilometres from the summit of the Stelvio and drops into Switzerland in a hurry. Big vistas up top with some epic switchbacks bfore dropping into the forest down a dramatic set of hairpins that act like a ladder to the village below. It’s also so much quieter than the Stelvio. There are periods where you don’t see anyone and it’s hard to know if it’s a dream or reality. 35 minute extended cut on Patreon.

I do know that road pretty well, it's sketchy at times (well, wrt my skills). Your ability to enter those corners at speed never ceases to amaze me 🤩. Mind you, if you happen to descend Umbrail when the road is closed beware that the red/white bar over the bridge at 12:57 is gonna be down and somewhat hidden by the bridge. Don't ask me how I know
Umbrail is an amazing climb. Although I enjoyed my decent 2min longer than you.

I did this same run last summer I think I was quicker in some sections than you 😂! But of course the overall time you bit my ass!! I😭🙈 . I also did the furka pass.
