Reminds me of mine, except I had three of these marks from my middle shin down to my ankle. You’ll get more, don’t mind them!

So, I’m also a drummer, in which we also use pedals. And didn’t see the sub name when I saw this post and immediately went to “holy shit, i’ve never seen a drum pedal do that before”.
r/mountainbiking makes a lot more sense.

Nice one!! Luckily it was just one, I’ve seen them look like a bear claw. Chicks dig scars

I did this 10 days ago. Had to get glued together because it was deep.

I just had the same thing happen to my shin and I regret not having gotten stitches. I strongly suggest you get some stitches. The steri trips were not strong enough to hold in lieu of stitches.

Is this a Tinder profile? Four images of the same wound, my dude.

Lots of shin guards out there for riding. I use a knee shin combo from Leatt but it’s quite heavy duty

This is why I carry a skin stapler in my Camelback.😁

Had it happen twice. I was kicking myself for the second one because I didn’t buy shin guards after the first time. If you think you need certain protection, get it. It will save you injuries and recovery time. Also doctor visit pay.

Oooof! I almost always ride in pants for that exact reason. Carhartts/climbing canvas pants (prana) for the bike park, then some bike specific pants for trail riding. Having just a little bit of fabric between your shin and pedal helps a lot, plus also helps with knee/other scrapes. Definitely a little sweaty on hot days, but I’d rather be a little sweaty than scraped up.

I feel like super thin shin guards could be a good way to combat this and not look ridiculous. Maybe something like a sleeve inside of a stretchy pant.

The good news is cuts like that heal up fast if you can get some skin closures on quickly and force it closed.

You eventually get to the point where they dont even hurt anymore, just bleed as you ride and maybe feel a little itchy. I got plenty of moments where I hop in the car after a ride and im like “What the hell what part of the ride did I fuck up my leg in?”

[Cavanero Protec-Shins are the only shin guards i know of that offer calf protection too (for an extra $5). most effective when worn with the top of them tucked under knee pads and the bottoms tucked in socks.](https://cavaneromoto.com/cavashop/p/protecshin)
