Hey, sorry if this is a stupid question, but I got my brand new frame, a Dartmoor Thunderbird and I noticed something that appeared to be a crack in the paint or maybe a scratch. Took a tiny bit of the paint away (1-2mm) to inspect, and it looks like there is no crack in the aluminum. What do you think? Just build it?

In hindsight you probably should have talked to the manufacturer about this before taking paint away.
This might not be helpful now but for future incidents maybe.
I’m by no means close to an expert and can only tell you what I would do and that would be to exchange the frame . I’m a big peace of mind type guy and that would create mental turmoil for ever. I guess if you have some type of frame warranty you could ride it within that time frame and if anything were to happen you could warranty it. Basically I’d be more worried that the crack/scratch would get worse and I’d be out a frame more so than the frame just blowing up and hurting me . Whenever shots on a weld it makes me feel not great. Sorry for the rambling , I wish you the best 😎
Doesn’t look like a crank to me
