Already posted in r/xbiking but someone suggested I post here as well.

I’m looking for a touring / commuter bike. Seller seemed very knowledgeable and pretty trustworthy. He flips bikes (mostly to donate, sells some to keep the donations going- hence the trust) and he said he got this bike from a older woman who had done one tour on it in the 90s. He’s asking $500 CAD / $350 USD.

He also said he’d be willing to change the handlebars for me (I’m thinking something more comfortable for long days – maybe butterfly / trekking bars?). It seems super clean to me but looking for other opinions!

If it was my size, and I didn’t already have multiple similar bikes, yes, I would buy it at that price after checking to make sure the seat post isn’t stuck, peering down seat tube with flashlight to check for pitted rust, and checking frame for major dents, and taking it for a test ride. From the pics, it looks to be in great shape.

I would go definitely for it if has service already done in BB, hubs and pedals.
