I bought an a line in october – then i upgraded it with mudguards, pedals and a bag carrier. I just can’t help thinking I made the wrong decision. sometimes the bike feels cheap, like with the gear hub.

considering I’ve easily done 500 miles on this bike and i’m never gonna get a car (i’ll get a driving license) I may as well have a good one and the a line just feels wrong.

am i being a snob or is there truth to this.

considering buying a p line in a year and a half because this is gonna be my forever bike.

The A Line is made by the same people, in the same factory, with (in the vast majority of cases) the same components that are used on the more expensive models. It’s an excellent value proposition if you don’t need the little extras that are included as standard on the C Line and the additional gearing options that the C (and P, T) Line offers.

If you were always intending to buy the P Line anyway, whether that’s to save weight, or have more gears at your disposal or whatever, then go for it. If you’re buying the P Line purely because you think you’ll be getting a more premium bike, then I think you’ll be disappointed. They’ll feel very similar in the most part in terms of materials and craftsmanship (except for the titanium obviously).

  2. I was also looking at the A line, but went for the Explorer C Line (6 speed) for 2 main reasons, it will be my bike-camping and touring bike across the country, and I would get more value if I have to sell it.

You did the right choice, so much that you bought a Brompton! It does not matter the line, you… have… a… Brompton, just enjoy it without feeling you missed out 😊😍

And I would review the P line, your A line is fantastic with the upgrades you made, maybe add the rear rack, not only gives you extra cargo, but also way more stable in basket-cart mode 🥰

Your best next upgrade would be …

Level the saddle it makes my eyes water just looking at it
