Some quality wildflower gazing this weekend.

There's a 2-3 week window around here when the wildflowers pop just before the landscape gets crisped into a "golden brown." While not as dramatic as other years, there was still some flower gazing to be had.

This is a less popular riding area, just two ridges over from Napa Valley proper. It's diverse though, with tame smooth trails down low in the oak grassland wildflower zone and rockier geology with more interesting trail if you keep on climbing into the mixed pine and manzanita zone. Not in the regular local ride rotation, but always a good option in late Spring.

(Side note: Electric bike fans have reason to rejoice since it looks like the ban on electric bikes on Dan's Wild Ride is no longer.
