I’m looking for a touring / commuter bike. Seller seemed very knowledgeable and pretty trustworthy. He flips bikes and he said he got this bike from an older woman (original owner) who had done one tour on it in the 90s. He’s asking $500 CAD / $350 USD. He also said he’d be willing to change the handlebars for me (I’m thinking something more comfortable for long days – maybe butterfly / trekking bars?). It seems super clean to me but looking for other opinions!

Absolutely buy if you are looking for something like that. I would probably hold off on changing the bars/stem out until you get some miles on it and see how it feels unless you know the numbers where you are most comfortable.

What a cool bike. Kuwahara built frames for a lot of better-known brands, including Schwinn and Centurion. I believe they used Ishiwata tubing.

    That’s frigging sick, do it.

Great colors too, lots to play with for aesthetics

I suspect the max tire clearance is 700 x 38mm. It may be triple butted Tange steel – check the label. They made super high quality frames – note the dual spoke holders on the chainstay and other fine accoutrements like a chain hanger.

    I’d say yes.
