Hi! Im a begginer and new to this subreddit. I want to get some help. I bought this marin alpine trail Carbon 2 frame and build this bike around it. It is XL and im 185cm. Marin says the frame is for 188+. I bought it because it was in really good price. I was driving it around in this position as on photos and it was super comfortable on XC trails. Last week i hit some enduro trails for the first time in my life and I felt a little overwhelmed by the bike, like I almost felt by the handlebars on drops few times and felt like i was just passenger on it. I want to know if my bike position is somehow terrible, the frame is too big or is it just my lack of skill. Any advice would be appreciated. I didnt crush, and manage to do drops in a proper way in the end, but i can’t get this feeling out of my head that I would probably do better on proper L size frame.

Lower the seat post and blue pedals to match the shirt and your golden 👍
Seated position is basically for pedalling up. Please dont ride dh whilst sat down.
Suspension setup will highly affect the weight distribution f/r. Same applies with cockpit setup.
There are millions of tutorials on YT on these topics, and its always personal, so it’d be probably best practice to start there.
Doesn’t look terrible but I agree, your saddle height needs to come down.
Look at the first picture. Your knee angle looks ok, but your foot should be level at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
I think your seat height is great, not sure what the comments are about.
Kinda sounds like you think the bike is too long, you could get a shorter stem and also some higher rise bars, those will both bring the front end closer to you.
Try to demo other bikes, your friends bikes, etc and compare the geometry numbers.
