Mb-5 isn’t worth much is it? It’s the mb-1 or 2’s that are great isn’t it?

It does look like somebody went to the nines with the parts they put on it. From the picture it looks to have a Paul brakeset, white industries cranks, a modern 12 ish speed drivetrain, and custom wheels with velocity rims. Nothing on this bike is stock. It’s a niche market trying to sell classic frames with modern fancy components but he might have more than that in just parts

If it makes you feel better, I cut up an MB-1 and welded it to a Diamondback to make a tall bike. I got both frames from the trash.

If the tariffs stay in place for very long, and bike supplies dry up, this could end up being a bargain.

When I was in the Bay Area last summer visiting my mom, I noticed a nice old Stumpjumper with some bougie parts on it for $100, so I tried to inquire, but didn’t get a response. A few weeks later, I saw the same bike asking $1,000,000. And even later, I came across the same exact bike here on xbiking. So it was just some dude trolling craigslist for attention as far as I could tell. Maybe this bike is from the same dude. If not, it’s someone like him.
