I bought Canyon Grail CF SL 8 with a DT Swiss 1800 wheelset and this spring I decided to upgrade wheelset to DT Swiss GRC 1400 Spline. After wheels arrived I found that I had a big problem with centerlock ring on front wheel. I can't tighten the lockring with bike hand wrench. Because the shape of the FW end cap is different.
I can't understand what I have to do, should I use lockring type with external tool holder or buy specific wrench?
Does anybody advise me solution?
What kind of lockring does Grail SLX use?

I have the same GRC wheels and got a set of external lockings, mangled 1 or 2 internal lock rings in the process of figuring out why they wouldn’t fasten/loosen properly 🫠
