I think if it gets you riding, it’s safe, and comfortable, then it’s a good thing.

    Plus you already own it.

Basically everyone looks like a dork on a bike. It’s just what it looks like to ride a bike. You need glasses to see, so I think this is great

  2. Thanks for providing different scenery to see it out in the wild. I can confidently say that I wouldn’t buy it.

All helmets look stupid. I wear them to prevent brain damage.

There is no rule that the eye protection has to be attached to the rider, not the helmet, so go for that one. Looks more aero too.

  4. You’re already a dork, may as well be a dork with some cool gear!

People will think whatever they want, and let them. But I think that’s actually a pretty sweet looking helmet, and it is an especially good use-case for you considering you ride with glasses.

  5. Job 1 for a hemet is protecting your noodle. Never heard of this brand so I have do ask. Does it meet standards? Is it MIPS?

Job 2 is being comfortable during a ride. Weight cooling and vision lines need to be positive.

Job 3 is aesthetics. It’s not the best in this category, but if it nails other jobs. Then it’s ok by me.

  6. I think it looks pretty cool.

Thought I’d share this helmet rating list that a lot of people seem to go by: https://www.helmet.beam.vt.edu/

And the one that has the best rating to price ratio is called the Specialized Align II.

    Happy riding!

Assuming it is a safe helmet, I have found integrated shields to be great during super cold winters. They don’t fog up like my glasses would when wearing a baclava or such over your mouth.

Giro had a helmet (not a TT helmet) with a magnetically clipped on visor in ~2010 ish? I liked it. Our squad got a pro deal and when we lined up the sprint train we looked like ti-fighter pilots from the Death Star lol

  9. i have the same design. together with the magnetic visor. need i say i wear glasses as well.

2 years in and i still love it.

I think if you’re really worried about aesthetics, just wear a full helmet as I think they look way better. But ultimately no one cares about what their seatbelt looks like, so the same kinda is true for helmets

  11. I have the same issue wearing eyeglasses. Does the visor come off for night/cloudy day riding??

  12. Looks kinda neat to me, I like the convenience of not putting a tint lense over the eyeglasses.

Rather look stupid than become stupid from a head injury.

  13. Honestly, if we hadn’t just bought a new helmet we’d be going for this. We’d make it even more of a Thing™ of gearing up for a ride with this, complete with some Batman suit-up montage sound effects. Even with glasses, we still get the occasional road debris/bug in the eye, and out here in the AZ desert the sun Is A dEaDlY lAzEr! Only problem we’d have is night rides; how does the visor stow away?

  14. Why would you have a “friend” that doesn’t ride bikes? Odd.

I have one of these, super practical. You look like a dork. Own it.

Helmets look dumb oh well that keep you from dieing or having permanent brain damage. Wear em, as far as actual practical safety goes wear that helmet but in the future when you’ve got the money for it get a decent helmet from Smith, Lazer or one of the other major brands that’s gone though the VT testing center. My helmet was like $60 is very comfortable and has a really high rating it’s If you can please try to get a helmet with MiPs or Lazer’s Keneticore technology in it. Basically it’s one of the biggest improvements to helmet tech in the last 100 years and could save your life

It’s the closest I’d come to being a fighter pilot so it’s cool in my book.

Never liked built-in visors or eye protection on a helmet. Why limit yourself to a rigid built-in thing when there’s so many eye protection options available. Besides, if you’re purchasing this online, you’ll have no idea whether those goggles will line up with your own face.

No, purchase your brain bucket and eye shields separately.

  18. am I the only one who just cycles in prescription glasses without my head exploding or my eyes dropping out or anything?
