I’ve been looking to get into Dh but I don’t have the money for a new bike. I’d primarily use this for fun and local racing. Bike seems like a steal for the price but looks like it would need some tlc (mainly the pivots which seem to be rusted or something) and is making me hesitant. I get that the geometry is wildly outdated but I haven’t ever had anything with modern geometry so I’ll keep living in blissful ignorance for my wallets sake

Is it stolen?
I bet it’s a fun bike to ride. That would have been a dream back in the day.
I had an old Glory similar to this and at the time it was a blast to ride. At that price I would consider the outdated geometry to get into DH.
A couple of things you should look into first
– does anyone still have bearing kits for that frame?
– have the fork and shock seen any sort of service over the years? If they’re trashed that can quickly add expense to get this bike running well.
– most importantly, does the frame have any cracks?
Worth it if you can wrench on your own bike. A DH bike under 500 is usually worth buying. A used fork and shock can easily cost more than 500.
A bike this old is bound to have something wrong with it and repairs quickly add up cost. I took a chance at an Orange 224 EVO and while it had been well maintained, I still had to do small stuff like replace the bottom bracket and service the fork.

Yep. They’re a fun bike. Geometry is a bit dated, but stick an Angleset in the read tube and it’ll be fun. A steal at $500
26” wheels will definitely make for a ruff ride on chunky rock trails… if you’re only doing dirt… it’s a GO!
