Crossed into Germany… Aachen delivered eats & architecture! 🇩🇪

22.25 miles today and another border crossing —- The Netherlands into Germany.

Today we visit Aachen, and while we were never planning to go to Aachen for visiting the city itself, holy smokes.. it’s beautiful and definitely deserves more time than just one night.

But alas, we’re only here for a night so we made the most of it.. walking towards the towering buildings to have our breath taken away by the amazing architecture… and then noticing everyone around us was having a beer, so figuring out where they got it from, and went and grabbed some too.

Which turned into something like the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie story, because then we noticed loads of people eating food from AKL, so naturally we did what any good tourist does… found that restaurant and ate there too.

And can we just say, yuuuuuummmmmmm!!

Aachen left us aching for more time in the city.. but this European cycle tour has other plans for us — which we’re sharing tomorrow!
