What do y’all think about this bike? Also a little unsure on if I want a large or medium frame, I’m about 5’10 but definitely have a thicker build. It appears to have a little rust and there is a lot of tape on frame by the back tire and I’m not sure what the purpose is.

It would be the right price if it was in better condition. I doubt it would need much work, but it will need some work. Try to knock $50 off?
Edit: check under the tape just in case there’s frame damage
The wrap around the drive side chain stay is to protect it from chain slap.
When I see rust like that I always wonder about the conditions of the headset, hub, and bottom bracket bearings.
